Privacy
Your data, plainly.
What we collect, why, and the choices you have.

01Who we are
Encodex is a private engineering and R&D department working from Paris, Milan and Austin. This page explains what we collect when you visit this site or write to us, why, and the choices you have.
02When you write to the founder
The form asks what you would like to build, how you would like to meet, your name, your email, and optionally your company and a note. When you send it, these answers reach our team as an email, delivered by Resend, our email provider. We do not store the form on our web server and we never add you to a mailing list.
To stop automated abuse, our server keeps your network address in memory for a few minutes after you send the form, and then forgets it.
03When you browse
With analytics switched on, PostHog records how the site is used: the pages you open, clicks and scrolling, your device and browser, an approximate location derived from your network address, and recordings of sessions in which every form field is masked. We use this only to understand what works and to improve the site.
Like any website, our server also records basic request logs (network address, page and time) to keep the site secure and running.
04On your device
We store your privacy choice in your browser (local storage, under "enx-consent"), and whether you have already seen the opening sequence in this session ("enx-intro-seen"). When analytics is on, PostHog uses its own cookie and local storage to recognise a returning visit. Our fonts and 3D scenes are served from our own server, not from third parties.
05Why we use it
We use your brief to answer you and to prepare a possible engagement, which is a step you ask us to take. We use analytics with your consent in Europe, and elsewhere because improving the site is in our legitimate interest, which you can refuse at any time. We keep server logs because securing the site is in our legitimate interest.
06Your choices
If you are in Europe, analytics stays off until you choose. Everywhere else it is on by default, and you can switch it off at any time with the Privacy choices button below or in the footer of every page.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
07Who processes it for us
Resend delivers the emails sent from the form. PostHog provides the analytics, on servers in the United States. Hetzner hosts this website in Germany. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, it is covered by the safeguards these providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
08How long we keep it
We keep a brief as long as we need it to answer you and, if we work together, for the length of the engagement. We keep analytics and logs no longer than we need them to improve and protect the site. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
09Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to us and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, such as the CNIL in France or the Garante in Italy.
10Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
11Write to us
For any question about your data, or to use your rights, write to our team.
