They operate hundreds of billboard and large-format LED screens across major cities — prime urban real estate seen by millions of people every day. Their core business is selling screen time to brands and advertisers. They are an established, well-funded player in a market worth hundreds of millions annually.
The Challenge
A Strategic Problem That Money Alone Couldn't Solve
Their billboards were powerful — high-traffic locations, massive visibility, premium inventory. But to the average person walking past, a billboard was furniture. Background noise. Something you glance at and forget. The screens had no relationship with the public. They spoke at people, never with them.
The leadership team saw an opportunity that could reshape their entire business: what if ordinary people could put their own content on those billboards? What if a teenager could take a selfie and see it appear — live, in real time — on a giant screen in the city center? Suddenly, every billboard becomes a destination. Every screen becomes a story someone tells their friends. The advertising inventory gets more valuable because the screens now have audiences who care.
The concept was simple to describe and brutally hard to build.
They spent over three years trying. They burned through more than $165,000 in research, consulting fees, and failed prototypes. Multiple teams attempted it. Nobody could solve the core problem: letting a consumer push content from their phone to a physical billboard in real time, while ensuring that every piece of content is screened before it hits a screen visible to the general public.
The moderation layer alone killed most attempts — too slow, too expensive, too unreliable. You cannot put unreviewed content on a billboard in a city square. One inappropriate image and you have a regulatory crisis, a PR disaster, and angry municipal authorities.

Content Moderation That Works at Billboard Scale
This was the dealbreaker for every previous team. We built a screening pipeline that evaluates content in under 60 seconds. Safe content flows through automatically. Anything questionable is held for human review — but that's only a small fraction of submissions. The system enforces community safety rules automatically, scaling moderation without scaling headcount.
